Tania runs the instablog @SustainablyStylish, where she shares her journey/outfits to becoming more sustainable, and elevates issues for immigrants, women and people of color in New York City.
A proud Latina and Mexican immigrant, Tania has been involved in advocacy since childhood. After leaving her position as CMO of StyleLend (a peer-to-peer fashion rental), Tania pursued a career in politics as the Chief of Staff for Suraj Patel for Congress. She now impacts the fashion industry by giving women a new way of consuming trends without creating new waste, plus sharing her knowledge of our government, policies and regulations.
She’s a co-founder of Fashion of Tomorrow, which works with local governments on new policy, sits on the board of Amplify Her NYC, which is trying to get more women in NYC to elected office, and is part of the Activist Council of PPNYC & Unicef Unite, a congressional action team. In 2019, she joined her second campaign as Director of Engagement & Branding for Dawn Smalls for Public Advocate. She’s also dabbled in writing for Huffpost UK.
Tania currently lives in the West Village with her pup Ms. Marley Sue and spends her free time discovering new thrift stores across New York City.
